San Antonio Hams

This is NOT a simple, typical “field day”operation. This IS a serious over-night “real day – real deal” learning session.

A much shortened version of my full 3 day Jump Team Boot Camp will be offered ONLY IF there are enough interested hams in this area.

Note: My full 3-day boot-camp is still being held in late October but it’s been requested that I also hold a simpler one. We will go through the same basic steps needed to set up and run a complete emergency communications complex at a location where nothing would be standing.

 This includes the all important site survey before structures are erected, sheltering and how to properly put them up, station operating posts, antenna building and erection, power generation, food support/dining areas, message handling, troubleshooting your station, propagation, etc. All participants will be exposed to every phase so they will be able to “do it all” from scratch in case of an emergency.

I am open to any local club who might wish to co-sponsor this event. All equipment and food will be included at no cost to the attendees who need only bring personal items and their own sleeping bag. 

A July date will be determined (a Saturday late morning until Sunday about noon) as best to accommodate as many attendees as possible and the location will be at a local campground which will be less foreboding than the full 3-day session “in hell”.

Learn how to prepare the right way so you’ll be ready if you need to deploy for several days to a location other than at some simple pre-determined shelter.

Be ready and trained to go where most cannot.
