I had the fortunate experience to visit 4 of the 7 area Field Day sites on Saturday, June 22, 2019. The first three were visited during daylight hours, enabling me to fly one of my drones to get some unique perspectives. The 4th site was visited after dark and I was unable to fly while up in Boerne visiting KARS ham club.News media picked up SARC’s eventhttps://spectrumlocalnews.com/tx/san-antonio/news/2019/06/23/san-antonio-participates-in-amateur-radio-nationwide-exercise?cid=share_clipI’ve uploaded 3 videos to YouTube and will share them below…My first stop was out west in Hondo, with the Medina County Amateur Radio Corp (McARC) at the Hondo City Park.My second stop was at the American Legion Post 300 on Grosenbacher Road, west of San Antonio’s Loop 1604 and north of Hwy 90. Alamo Area Radio Organization was set up there and the location was nice for flying. My third stop was over at the San Antonio Radio Club’s event on the property of Shavano Park City Hall, where they have been hosted for the past 17 years. It was beginning to get dark, so I didn’t get much flight time in, plus I was in the approach path for San Antonio International Airport, so my drone kept warning me to stay low.My fourth stop was after dark and therefore only cellphone photos were able to be taken. They had 4 stations set up, one in the house, two in a barn and a third next to a camping trailer.
