A great ham radio event has been revived that will provide a weekend of fun and excitement to every ham that participates. The New Mexico QSO Party, an operating event designed for new and experienced hams alike, will take place on the first weekend of February (Feb 7-8, 2009).
The purpose of this HF and 6-meter event (both of which every ham has privileges to operate on) is to get on the airwaves and have a great time with hams from across
Complete details, rules, and forms are available at the New Mexico QSO Party website: http://www.swcp.
But here’s the catch: In order for the New Mexico QSO Party to be successful we need to (a) promote it to all the hams in New Mexico and beyond, (b) strive to get as many New Mexico hams to participate in the QSO Party as possible, and (c) get at least one ham in each of New Mexico’s 33 counties to participate in all or part of the event.
This year’s event is being sponsored by the Los Alamos Amateur Radio Club. If your club would like to sponsor the 2010 New Mexico QSO Party, please contact the event committee via the email address found on the website. Furthermore if you have any question about this great event, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Mark your calendars for February 7-8, and visit http://www.swcp.
NOTE: Texas’ own “BEXAR OPERATORS GROUP” will be sponsoring a plaque for “High Score – Non-New Mexico Single Operator” – Let’s see if a Texan can win it! New hams are encouraged to give it a try. Walk in to your local ham club meeting later on in the year carrying a plaque for your contest efforts.
