We’ve spoken with Gordon to confirn that he and Barry are handling the 2009 event, and are looking to recruit more hams to help with this event.  Unfortunately since it is the same weekend as the BPMS150 (Houston – Austin BikeMS) ride, several of our regular volunteers will not be available.

We suggest that if you DO want to work this 1 day event, and get another free t-shirt in the process, contact either Gordon or Barry to volunteer ASAP.  Gordon can be reached at 210-410-9518  and Barry can be reached at 210-618-4774, or click on the links to their names to send email. The Hill Country Sports Association is proud to present the 2009 Fiesta Wildflower Ride. The cycling community along with San Antonio and its many visitors will have a fun family event for 2009. Participants and spectators alike anticipate a memorable weekend to kickoff Fiesta activities.

In 2008 approximately 1050 athletes participated from Texas and beyond. Both young and the young at heart joined in this fitness experience as they cycled through our scenic hill country.

For 2009 route distances will range from 25 mi – 100 mi. Rest stops will be staged approximately every 10 miles and were fully supported by volunteers. Roving SAG vehicles will be available on all courses to assist riders between aid stations when necessary. The Fiesta Wildflower Ride brings families together during this weekend of challenging and inspiring activities.
