Ham Picnic In San Antonio July 17th

Hello {FirstName} {LastName} {Text1}.

Bexar Talk-Net Picnic This Saturday!

This is the SanAntonioHams.org Ham Radio Community Newsletter. This newsletter is going out to about 400+ email addresses for ham radio operators, but if you want to be removed, please {UNSUBSCRIBE "To unsubscribe, click here"}.

If your contact info is wrong, or needs corrected, please contact us using the info at the bottom of this newsletter. Don't use the Unsubscribe link for general contact, because that account gets handled automatically.

PS: One of our local hams, Gary K5GST, had his personal email account, K5GST@LIVE.COM, hijacked Monday 7/12. He has not gone to Spain to aid his ailing cousin with various misspelled life threatening medical conditions. He was as surprised to hear about his "emergency trip" and mysterious "cousin" as we were. Gary was standing inside KComm Ham Radio Store Monday afternoon when everybody's text messages started beeping with a message from himself. Then his phone started ringing when everybody called to issue their condolences. :) Gary has a GMAIL account he will be using until this matter is corrected.

VE Test Info For JULY 17th Picnic

We look forward to seeing you at the VE session for the Talk-Net Annual Picnic.

Below I've listed information about our upcoming test session and what to bring.
VE test session at Talk-Net Annual Picnic
Date:  Saturday, July 17
Time:  VE session starts by 11 AM
Location:  Elks Club (inside), 15650 Market Hill, San Antonio, TX 78256

Study help: I highly recommend this web site's flash cards over any site's practice tests http://www.kb0mga.net/exams/

Choose the Flash Cards and you will go through all the possible questions for the exam, not just 35 (or 50 for Extra) on a practice test. It will remember your progress when you come back another day to study more. Many of our test candidates have found that the flash cards help them to review/study more thoroughly than practice tests.

What to Bring: All necessary forms will be furnished to you. Please bring
        - Social security number (or FRN if already obtained from FCC)
        - Photo ID (preferably drivers license)
        - Original and photocopy of your current license (if you are a Ham)
        - A simple calculator may be helpful. It should have nothing more
sophisticated than trig functions -- no PDAs, no phones.
        - $15 test fee -- exact change preferred

Youth without a photo ID need two documents for identification. Suitable documents include a school report card, birth certificate, and a Social Security card.

Good luck July 17!

73,
Pat Knight  AD5BR
