Bush met up with\u00a0Bob Hejl, W2IK,\u00a0while\u00a0the former President\u00a0was touring the &#8220;Center For The Intrepid&#8221; where\u00a0W2IK works.<\/p>\n<p>The Center For The Intrepid is part of the BAMC military hospital complex in San Antonio\u00a0where &#8220;Wounded Warriors&#8221; have physical therapy and are outfitted with the latest in prosthetic limbs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"center_for_the_intrepid\" src=\"http:\/\/sanantoniohams.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/center_for_the_intrepid-200x119.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"center_for_the_intrepid\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"200\" height=\"119\" align=\"left\" \/>W2IK explained to\u00a0Bush that the last time\u00a0he had seen him was when\u00a0he was doing emergency communications work at &#8220;Ground Zero&#8221; during the World Trade Center Disaster in 2001. After hearing that,\u00a0Bush slapped\u00a0him on the back and\u00a0said : &#8220;God Bless you for being there. It&#8217;s an honor to shake your hand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After some small talk, such as W2IK explaining how\u00a0he moved down to Texas in 2002, married a &#8220;good\u00a0Texas woman&#8221; (Krissy, KD5YTN) \u00a0and how\u00a0he knew it was a Texas residency requirement\u00a0to root for a Texas football team,\u00a0the former President\u00a0finished his building tour.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The picture\u00a0to the right\u00a0was taken in March of this year\u00a0when former President George W.
