The $5.50 increase would be the largest vanity fee hike in many years. The proposal is contained in a <em>Notice of Proposed Rule Making<\/em> (<em><strong>NPRM<\/strong><\/em>), \u201cAssessment and Collection of Regulatory Fees for Fiscal Year 2014; Assessment and Collection of Regulatory Fees for Fiscal Year 2013; and Procedures for Assessment and Collection of Regulatory Fees,\u201d which appeared in <em>The Federal Register<\/em> on July 3.<\/p>\n<p>The FCC reported there were 11,500 \u201cpayment units\u201d in FY 2014. The Commission said the vanity program generated $230,000 in FY 2013 revenue, and it estimated that it would collect nearly $248,000 in FY 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Interested parties have 30 days to comment on the <em>NPRM<\/em>.
