Have you thought about the hobby of \u201cHam\u201d Radio<\/strong>, but weren\u2019t sure where to start? Perhaps you think that it\u2019s just too hard to learn, or that the test is expensive, or that you have to know that dit-dah stuff; y\u2019know, Morse Code. Well, here\u2019s where we can help!<\/p>\n Atascosa County Amateur Radio Club wants to help bring more people into the \u201cHam\u201d Radio community.<\/strong> We are gearing up to offer classes for the Technician Class License, the first license that a person earns to become an Amateur Radio Operator.<\/p>\n The four class sessions will cover<\/strong> FCC Rules Part 97 (the rules which govern Amateur Radio), Radio Theory, Electronics Theory, and Operator protocol. None of this is difficult; there are \u201cHams\u201d out there who\u2019ve gotten their license as young as eight years old! Oh, and by the way, as of 2007 Morse Code is no longer a requirement for any Amateur Radio License!<\/p>\n Class dates:<\/strong> October 24, 31, November 7, 14. Currently licensed Amateur Radio Operators are welcome to audit the class with pre-registration.<\/p>\n
