{"id":306,"date":"2009-01-03T14:24:10","date_gmt":"2009-01-03T19:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sanantoniohams.org\/blog\/?p=306"},"modified":"2016-04-11T07:09:05","modified_gmt":"2016-04-11T12:09:05","slug":"new-mexico-qso-party-2009","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sanantoniohams.org\/blog\/?p=306","title":{"rendered":"NEW MEXICO QSO PARTY &#8211; 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<font size=\"2\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial\">A\u00a0great ham radio event has been revived that will provide a weekend of fun and excitement to every ham that participates.\u00a0 The <strong><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">New Mexico QSO Party<\/span><\/strong>, an operating event designed for new and experienced hams alike, will take place on the<strong><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> first weekend of February (Feb 7-8, 2009)<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/font><o><\/o><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"2\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial\">The purpose of this HF and 6-meter event (both of which every ham has privileges to operate on) is to get on the airwaves and have a great time with hams from across <st1><\/st1><st1><\/st1>New Mexico and the nation.\u00a0 Simply put, NM hams contact as many hams (inside and outside NM) as possible.\u00a0 Non-NM hams contact as many NM hams (only) as possible.\u00a0 Essentially, <st1><\/st1>New Mexico hams will find themselves on the \u201cother\u201d side of the pileup, with stations across the country and perhaps world wanting to make contact with the <st1><\/st1><st1><\/st1>Land of <st1><\/st1>Enchantment for the duration of the event.\u00a0 And what good operating event can\u2019t be without awards?<o><\/o><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"2\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial\"><!--more-->Complete details, rules, and forms are available at the New Mexico QSO Party website: http:\/\/www.swcp.<wbr><\/wbr>com\/~n5zgt\/<wbr><\/wbr>nmqsoparty\u00a0 <o><\/o><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"2\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial\">But here\u2019s the catch: In order for the New Mexico QSO Party to be successful we need to (a) promote it to all the hams in New Mexico and beyond, (b) strive to get as many New Mexico hams to participate in the QSO Party as possible, and (c) get at least one ham in each of New Mexico\u2019s 33 counties to participate in all or part of the event.<\/span><\/font><o><\/o><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"2\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial\">This year\u2019s event is being sponsored by the Los Alamos Amateur Radio Club.\u00a0 If your club would like to sponsor the 2010 New Mexico QSO Party, please contact the event committee via the email address found on the website.\u00a0 Furthermore if you have any question about this great event, please don\u2019t hesitate to contact us.<o><\/o><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"2\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial\">Mark your calendars for February 7-8, and visit http:\/\/www.swcp.<wbr><\/wbr>com\/~n5zgt\/<wbr><\/wbr>nmqsoparty today!
