Antenna Test By Seguin EOC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Chaparral Amateur Radio Club (which happens to also be the Guadalupe County ARES group) set up and tested NVIS antennas at the county EOC in Seguin on Sunday, September 13th.\u00a0\u00a0 Their goal was to design an antenn that could be raised or lowered from the ground, in order to find that sweet spot where the\u00a0noise floor was the lowest.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re\u00a0hoping to get\u00a0an after action report to be added here in a few days, so please check back for more details about the results of this test.<\/p>\n<p>The following photos were taken during the event by the well known local\u00a0NVIS antenna consultant and guru, Bob W2IK, who was obviously present but not shown in the photos since he was on the other side of the camera.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->When looking at the photos, it struck me how much the &#8220;turf boundaries&#8221; between clubs has shrunk, since 3 of the 6 hams shown in the group photo were also members of the\u00a0Hill Country REACT Team.\u00a0 I think that &#8220;shrinking&#8221; is a good thing to be happening.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style
